I immediately picked up my notebook and wrote them down as Tom continued to talk. This is what I wrote:
"Its okay to not know.
Fear not the unknown.
Be crowned in the now,
and you will Know."
A few hours later after some work on some of our websites and a snack, I sat down at the computer again and opened up my notepad and began writing this post. I just let it flow until I was done. It came out in a poem format which was curious to me :) But I liked it and it was true.
So I then wrote this intro, copied it to my website and shared it. Now here we are.
Enjoy what flowed through this evening about parenting.
Another Lesson Learned in Parenting
We cannot put the power to choose in her hands.
At least not without our guidance,
and our willingness to surrender all our personal plans.
As parents, we are to help her to learn,
to fully understand and to see.
Yet how can we teach her truly,
When we have yet to see and be?
Who we really are is calling us,
to be authentic, real and humble.
There is nothing I would not do,
to help to prevent a terrible stumble.
This is why I help her to succeed,
and give her everything she needs,
so that I can benefit from her growth,
and the Spirit can gently and perfectly guide us both.
When we choose her scope of learning,
we can offer her the choices we see,
that would be in her and our highest interest,
no more I or she, but we.
She then chooses from the choices we gave her,
she feels like she has the power.
We are then continually in alignment,
remembering a higher power.
As her parents we are her role model.
She turn to us to learn and to know all.
This must mean, we must know all.
If we don't, then we might fear, scream or fight, right?
So we act like we know.
We teach like we know.
We think like we know,
and repeat what we've always known.
I have come to learn a little secret,
that we don't know at all.
And that's okay you know, that shouldn't inspire trepidation at all.
When we think we know everything,
we have limited our view,
there is nothing we can do, when we put ourselves on the pew.
Yet when we trust not our own learning,
but seek to understand,
we are then guided by the Spirit,
and can take her by the hand.
What we 'think' we know
is what our parents taught us that they knew,
and it was passed down from generation to generation threw and threw,
and now we know what they knew, plus or minus a mistake or two.
This continual sharing of "knowledge",
is what blinds us from the Knowledge of the Soul.
Thus we must forget what we were taught,
and go free falling into the "I don't know".
This is the opposite of what we think we should do,
of how we should act or were taught.
This is why us listening within,
is the best thing we got.
We can listen with the mind of Love,
and receive the Love thereby.
We can then give to our precious children,
everything from beyond the stars and the sky.
Our children beam light, creativity and a joy for learning too.
We have to encourage all of that,
and safe guard ourselves from thought of selfishness and getting, too.
This is where our learning comes in.
We need to learn how to Be,
we want to teach all the things that we want to have her to be and see.
Have her see the Soul we are,
and only demonstrate this Light,
for when the time comes where she has forgotten,
she will surrender instead of picking a fight.
I saw today that the main thing we have to learn to do,
is encourage this divine energy to be alive in her too.
We are to communicate to her and explain to her what we are doing and why
this offers her trust &transparency,
so she can spread her wings and fly.
I ask my Soul, this light that is guiding me,
Seriously, meditatively, non-chalantly,
what to do and how to do it,
what to say and how to see it.
I listen and follow what feels good,
but also making sure its inclusive in every way it should.
I give this learning to all,
in hopes to rise instead of fall.
For giving is receiving,
they are one and the same,
I will teach this in parenting,
and use this to train,
my mind, my ways,
that I may be at peace
and offer peace,
everywhere and in all ways.
